Funding the Mission
We offer many opportunities for people to help the Zoological Society’s mission. Zoo Crew membership is in the works now and will be the largest piece of our fundraising. Annually, the Society is projected to bring in more than $4 million in membership dollars of which 50% of the funds will go directly to Zoological programs within our state. Higher-end membership programs like our Safari Circle will bring in valuable dollars from more than 5,000 area foundations, businesses and individuals.
Other fundraisers include our proposed Society’s Sponsor an Animal program. People will be able to sponsor one of the numerous animals in our Zoos starting at $25 up to $2,500. Throughout the year, individuals and families are encouraged to attend one of many fundraising events we are currently planning such as our Trivia Nights, Brew for the Zoo, and our Zoo Ball, a black-tie gala.
The Society relies on the generosity of companies and foundations to support the Zoo and the Society through grants, event sponsorship, attractions and more. Individuals or companies can choose to give direct donations to the Society or donate to a new yearly need established in our Annual Appeal. No matter the size of the donation or participation, the Zoological Society could not do it without the help and investment of the community.

You can show your love for your favorite animal while supporting our mission to conserve, educate, and support the Huntington Zoo & Aquarium. Almost any animal at the zoo is available for sponsorship at a variety of price points. You can even choose one of our limited-time offers and receive a plush-toy animal and other goodies! Many individuals, organizations, and companies choose to support the Society by donating raffle items and packages from local businesses and individuals for use in silent auctions. We plan to host several silent auction fundraisers during events like the Zoo Ball, Golf Tournaments, Rhythm and Reptiles, Trivia Nights, and more. All auction proceeds support our mission!
Volunteer Opportunities
The Zoo and the Zoological Society rely on volunteers to make the Zoo a great experience for everyone. Volunteers share insight about the animals, help with the day to day operations, ensure the success of our special events and much more.
